Building is a complex business
requiring orchestration of many people, skills and techniques in order to attain
one goal: functional structures. This phrase, used so very often, incorporates
many principles:
good design:
use of proper materials
knowledge of the market
participation of a responsive client
economy of construction
Since the formation of the office, in 1989,
Corfu Developers has always made functional structures its main concern, with
projects ranging from school buildings to villas and renovation of houses to restoration
of listed buildings.
Corfu Island Developers operate from an office located at the
centre of the old town of Corfu and is organised into project teams. In addition
to the prime skills of civil engineering and architecture, the office is supported
by a number of other skills.
The 18th century
mansion is one of the houses for sale. It situated in the northern part of the
island of Corfu, Greece at Kavallouri village. It used to belong to Angelos Giallinas,
an artist well known in Greece for his water paintings.
It has been proclaimed
as "A building to be preserved", which by Greek law means that the exterior
shape of the building cannot be changed. Pictures of the mansion can be found
in a number of books about Corfu and Corfiot architecture (to be mentioned).
The
houses for sale comes with a 71.000 sq m (17,5 acres) property of land with olive
trees. The building is actually a set of four different structures; The main house,
stables, an olive press and a tower.
The buildings are in need of renovation,
as they have not been inhabited for a number of years. The exterior though is
a splendid sight, and an excelent example of Corfiot architecture. The whole structure
however is unique; the combination of the four different structures - the tower
being the highlight - can be found nowhere else in Corfu.
